New Study finds Vegan Solution to Post Night Out Kebab Cravings

Squeaky Bean Kebab Study

A study by plant based food brand Squeaky Bean found overall, 37 percent of Brits insist that a night out just isn’t complete without something tasty to eat at the end. However, four in ten (42 percent) Brits have worried about hygiene standards at their local kebab van or takeaway and a quarter (24 percent) have been suspicious that the food isn’t fresh.

Three in ten (28 percent) of Brits prefer to wait until they get home after the pub to rustle up something delicious and 19% say they’re most likely to devour their night out munch in bed. Whereas 3% don’t even make it inside, consuming their food on the front door step!

A fifth (19 percent) confess we would never eat food from a takeaway if we were sober, while 52 percent confess that any thoughts around healthy eating or diets are completely forgotten if they end up at the kebab van – so it’s no surprise that a fifth of Brits admit to feeling guilty about all the calories consumed when they wake up the following morning, while 28 percent constantly regret splashing out so much.

In fact, 35 percent would rather have something straight out of the fridge when they get home after a night out starving. 29 percent much prefer to have something at home instead of from the kebab van, but often struggle to find what they’re craving in their fridge or cupboards.

Vegan kebab demand

Sarah Augustine, Brand Manager of Squeaky Bean, said: “Our research indicates just how much Brits love a post pub or night out munchies, especially a kebab. We know how satisfying they can be, so we’ve got fridge to face moments sorted and created banging ready-to-eat kebabs that are better for you and the planet. We’re providing choice for meat eaters and vegans alike with no compromise on tastiness or quality so you can make an easy switch right when the cravings hit!”

Squeaky Bean now lines supermarket shelves across the UK with tasty Shawarma, Doner & Kofta kebabs as Brits admit the classic kebab is the food they crave the most after a night out, taking 39 percent of the vote, in a new nationwide study into night out eats.

You can find Squeaky Bean’s vegan-friendly Kebab range, made from wheat and pea protein instead of meat, across all major UK supermarkets from £2.50 RRP.
