Introducing: The Cultured Collective

The Cultured Collective

Something delicious is brewing. Fermenting to be precise! Since its establishment in 2016, London-based The Cultured Collective have been carefully developing, crafting, and fermenting to bring healthy and delicious kimchi and sauerkraut to their customer’s tables.

It’s alive!

Unpasteurised and with no artificial preservatives, each jar is loaded with live good bacteria to promote a healthy gut. Studies have shown that eating unpasteurised fermented foods such as kimchi, supports fostering a diverse gut flora (the bacteria that live in the digestive system), which is associated with better health.

The Cultured Collective offers both authentic varieties that pay homage to traditional ferments from all over the world, as well as our unique flavour combinations such as Tumeric & Ginger and Smoked Chipotle. Utilising modern scientific knowledge of health-enhancing ingredients, their kimchi and sauerkraut are unpasteurised, meaning the ‘good bacteria’ responsible for the fermentation process are still alive and thriving.

100% plant-based

The Cultured Collective Classic Vegan Kimchi comprises of a mix of fresh Chinese leaf cabbage, mooli radish, carrot and spring onion and is fermented for up to a week in an aromatic spice blend until the perfect balance of spicy-sour has been reached. Kimchi is famously rich in umami and many traditional recipes call for the addition of fish sauce and other seafood ingredients, however, The Cultured Collective opt for a sweet white miso paste that builds a depth of flavour without the need for animal products.

Please note: The Cultured Collective Kimchi Classic contains fish, however, all other products on their webpage are vegan-suitable. We recommend to always checking the ingredients before purchase.

Availability

The Cultured Collective Vegan Classic Kimchi is available from fine food delis, Planet Organic and Whole Foods Market, and online at theculturedcollective.co.uk.
